The Monarch Exhibit at the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center showcases the history of segregation and the struggles and triumphs of the African American community in Phoenix, Arizona, from 1863 to 1954. Through the stories of dedicated teachers and determined students, visitors can learn about the challenges faced and overcome at the Phoenix Union Colored High School and Carver High School.
