It is no small feat to develop a facility that can meet the needs of a rapidly changing community. In the short term, we are updating exhibition spaces so that we can continue to reach the public through virtual exhibits and
programs. We are also making facility improvements. We are reorganizing and acquiring new art and artifacts. We are working to increase facility safety and security in preparation for future public access. We are developing a long-term plan to reimagine and revitalize Carver’s extensive buildings and grounds. The future calls for this facility to be not only educational but also
interactive, engaging, and dynamic for the diverse communities that we serve. -
The future that we imagine is limitless, but we are grounded in the present, as we build that future one day at a time.
We are expanding our social media and web technology, adding digital displays to exhibit spaces, and developing podcasts as we grow our virtual program offerings. We look forward to building a learning lab that will enable youth and elders, alike, to explore STEM. They can learn how to access virtual technology, attend training, and learn to CODE. They can develop the professional skills that are vital to building strong communities.

Want to volunteer?
The Carver Museum and cultural center is recruiting volunteers who wish to help curate and share our history, and advance our mission. Volunteers share a similar pride and passion about the Museum and Cultural Center. They carry our mission and promote the Carver by sharing information about programs, events and exhibits, and recruiting new members and volunteers. Like the staff, they are dedicated to Carver and spread the news of this unique and historic organization.
One of the pleasures of volunteering at Carver is the day-to-day contact with a dedicated staff. Teamwork is of the utmost importance and is a fundamental component of our organization. Your ideas and the energy and enthusiasm that you bring will directly and immediately affect the lives of others at Carver and in the community. Those with previous museum and cultural center volunteer experience, education backgrounds, and administrative assistance are especially encouraged to volunteer. We hope that you will apply.
